Transvaginal Mesh
The FDA has issued a warning to patients who have been treated with transvaginal mesh. The warnings include risks of side effects and serious complications in conjunction with its use. While the side effects have been deemed as not rare, patients who are treated with surgical mesh receive no additional benefit compared to procedures/surgeries not using mesh. In 2011, an advisory committee voted to recommend the FDA upgrade the classification for surgical mesh because of the risk of side effects associated with its use. To date, the FDA has not announced plans to recall transvaginal mesh. However, more than 600 patients who developed post-surgery complications from its use have filed transvaginal mesh lawsuits against the manufacturers. We are now reviewing and accepting cases involving this product. If you or a loved one has experienced complications as a result of use of this product, please contact our office for a free consultation.

Yaz
In April 2012, the FDA announced that Yaz and all Drospirenone (DRSP)containing birth control pills would carry and new upgraded warnings of increased risks of blood clots. Since 2009,numerous independent studies concluded that birth control pills containing Drospirenone, (DRSP)present higher risks to users than comparable pillswithout DRSP. In October 2011, the FDA released findings of an FDA funded study that also found the pills presented higher risks – 75% higher risk in comparison to other pills. The maker of Yaz has been warned by the FDA that their advertisements broadened the implications of the drug and minimized serious risks with its use. Women taking YAZ must be concerned about the drug interactions that could increase potassium, in addition to the drug interactions common to all combination oral contraceptives. Currently, between 4,000 and 6,000 lawsuits have been filed against the manufacturers of Yaz.We are now reviewing and accepting cases involving this drug.If you or a loved one has experienced stroke, blood clots or heart problems as a result of use of this product, please contact our office for a free consultation.
SSRI Anti-Depressants

SSRI Anti-Depressants

Medical studies conducted over the last few years have published reports stating that there are serious side effects to taking anti-depressant drugs during pregnancy. The side effects mainly impact infants. Because the drugs impact the balance of serotonin in the brain and serotonin is crucial to human fetus development, birth defects can occur in babies whose mothers took these drugs during pregnancy.

SSRI drugs include Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft and Symbyax. Side effects can include neural tube defects, heart defects, Omphalocele and Craniosyntosis in babies.

We are now reviewing and accepting birth defect cases involving these drugs. If you or a loved one took any of these drugs during pregnancy which resulted in a birth defect, please contact our office for a free consultation.
